An Award

Mrs. C gave me the Perfect Blend of Friendship Award. As she described herself when she was given this award, "to claim my fabulous prize of four cyber coffee cups full of mysterious liquid, I must answer the following questions and provide links to five unsuspecting victims:"

1. Do you have the same friends since childhood? I moved 15 times growing up, and somehow I have managed to keep in touch with one person! I have a friend from way back in third grade. We knew each other in Monterey, California, for the year that our Dads were attending graduate school. The last time we saw each other was when we were twelve years old, back in 1975. I lived in Philadelphia, PA and she lived in Doylestown, PA. We still send each other birthday cards and Christmas cards every year. She has been back in California now for over 25 years while I have stayed on the East coast.

2. What do you value most about your friends? Their dependability and trustworthiness.
3. Are your friends your sounding boards? I always thought being able to be a sounding board for each other was a part of friendship, but I've learned a very hard lesson about this in the past few years. Actually, I think my problem had more to do with thinking certain people were better friends than they actually were. I find it difficult to balance being cautious and freely sharing my thoughts. I'm still learning and trying to grow up!

4. What is your favorite activity to share with your friends? Chatting and going out for lunch or coffee.
I would like to share this award with:
Thank you Mrs. C! My first award!

I've had some hard friend lessons the past few years as well! I want you to know that even though we don't see each other often, I've always sensed that you are true blue!

Thanks Kathryn, that means so much to me! Likewise for you! I hope you and anyone else I know in "real life" will realize that my comment here has more to do with MY growing and learning exactly what friends are supposed to be for each other than it does about what anyone else may have said or done.
